Admin support...in the widest sense

The work I do for people at home can take lots of different shapes. Often I get introduced as someone's carer, although I see myself more as the enabler. But the line is fine and sometimes it is very hard to set the borders. Once you have organised the admin matters in the life of someone quite vulnerable, they have started trusting you and you build quite a personal relationship. I do not only fulfil my roll of organiser, I'm also there for the chat and company and when life throws difficult curve balls at people I find it hard to not care. So there I found myself going in a little earlier as my client had had a fall, so I could make some lunch for him, after which I checked the post etc. Another day, I just sat and listened, because he lost his wife that morning... Doing your work correctly is important, but putting some heart in it, takes it just that bit further... Admin support with a personal touch, indeed....
